Skip the supermarket, I say. Go to the Yellow Green Market instead, open Saturdays and Sundays in Hollywood. A welcoming place that offers fresh fruit, veggies, meats, fish, fresh baked goods, ready to eat food, and so much more. The “more” also includes handmade crafts and artisan goods, live music, and lots of opportunities to meet and engage with the same people who grow and cook the food you take home. Not only do you take care of the weekly shopping list but also with every purchase you support local farmers and small business owners who have a vested interest in supplying you with the healthiest nutrients they can cultivate. This weekend, my usual shopping trip became a quick family outing giving Eli, my son, a chance to get acquainted with a few animals in the pop-up petting zoo.
